Years passed, and we reached the year 1936. Unfortunately, only speculations born from enthusiasts' fantasies exist, and the adventure during this 6-year period remains a mystery. However, we do know that according to researchers, a member of the association dedicated to the protection of dogs from Shimane Prefecture found the lost Ishi and brought him to Tokyo. In the same year, Ishi’s pedigree was officially registered and Ishi sired many offspring, which helped expand the genealogical tree. This played a key role in reviving the Shiba Inu breed after the turmoil of World War II.

The Shiba Inu, with its curled tail and mischievous grin, has captured hearts worldwide. But did you know this beloved breed nearly faced extinction after World War II? Thankfully, a spark of hope remained, thanks to the dedication of passionate breeders and a very special dog named Ishi. The meticulously documented lineage of this single dog became the foundation for the Shiba Inu’s revival. But how did breeders use this information to rebuild a nearly lost breed? Finding the Remaining Shibas Imagine a world ravaged by war. Food was scarce, resources limited, and the fate of many dog breeds hung precariously. Touched by the immense impact our beloved Ishi had on the world, visionary Takato Ushio came up with the idea of creating a stone statue based on the only existing photograph of the dog! The statue stands next to the house where our hero was born, and you can visit it in Masuda, Shimane Prefecture. This gesture immortalized Ishi, who will forever remain in our hearts.
